Summary of Position

In the role of Sales Manager Food you will be responsible for driving sales and margin targets for all segments within food (Confectionery, Bakery, Dairy and others) in the DACH Market (maybe extended to other countries in the future).


This position is preferably based in the Northern part of Germany area from a home office.


The position reports to the Sales Unit Manager Central & Eastern Europe.


Roles and Responsibilities:


* Directly responsible for several (Key) accounts;
* Meet sales targets in volume and margin while controlling the financial risks and exposure;
* Develop and implement portfolio sales strategy;
* Identify customer & competitive insights, needs and translate them to concrete propositions;
* Visit your customers frequently to understand their business goals and objectives, pro-actively offer solutions to their marketing challenges;
* Create a consistent pipeline of opportunities to realize our growth ambition

* Collaborate with the different functions at the European head office;

* Provide accurate and timely reporting of key statistics and forecasts

* Effective management of sales resources including territory and account planning;
* Participate in Company & Customer projects and liaise with Marketing, Finance, Innovation and Production;


Qualifications and Education Requirements

* Native German

* Bachelor or Master’s Degree, preferably in a commercial or food technology discipline;
* A proven track record in meeting and exceeding revenue targets, with at least 10+ years in a commercial role within the area of Food Ingredients preferably in fats & oils (Confectionery, Bakery, Dairy or other related segments);

* Fluency in German & English. Additional languages are a plus;


Preferred Skills and Competencies

* Skills, knowledge and experience in the development and execution of B-to-B sales;

* Experience working with ERP tool is preferred, ideally SAP;

* High level of professionalism, market sensitivity and integrity in representing the company;

* Self-starter & independent thinker;

* Entrepreneurial & commercial mind-set;
* Feel for efficiency, drive for results, relationship builder & team player;
* Leadership skills and ability to influence and energize others in delivering results;

* Ability to develop and execute innovative ideas and new ways of approaching challenges;
* Overall excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills;

* Willing to travel 3 days a week on average
